Three Steps for Sellers

Selling your home is as easy as the following 3 steps. 

1. Marketing

List your home on the #1 real estate website as “for sale by owner”. Your agent can provide you with info for professional photographers to make your listing “shine online” which is where 98% of buyers search for homes.

Put a sign in your yard. Your agent can provide you with a digital sign template you can take to a sign shop. Then let your friends and neighbors know your home is for sale and they might know of a potential buyer.

2. Home Prep

De-clutter your home as much as possible. Buyers want to see countertops and floor space, not “stuff!” If needed, apply fresh paint where needed and complete necessary repairs. Move in ready is what most buyers want.

Staging – a staged home sells faster and for more money. Your agent can recommend professional stagers if needed. It may cost a few hundred dollars but it can add thousands of dollars in value to buyers. A few well placed accessories with today’s color schemes can also make your home show better without hiring a professional.

3. Showings

When scheduling showings for potential buyers, have them take a photo of their drivers license and email or text it to you before they arrive. That way you can confirm who they are when they arrive, and you have a record of who was in your home. You should also ask if they have been pre-approved by a lender. If they have not talked to a lender you can ask that they do so and provide you with a mortgage pre-approval letter before showing them your home.
